2) San Luis Obispo County, California: Information extracted from the obituary of Martha Ellen Morgan, the marriage record of Anna Fay Andis and Elmo Burris, and Federal censuses 1900-1930: William Andis (born 1868 IN; died by 1929 in probably San Luis Obispo Co, CA); his second wife, Martha Ellen Morgan (born 08 Jun 1870 Evanston, WY or UT; died 12 Apr 1950 San Luis Obispo, CA; IOOF Mausoleum); their daughter, Anna Fay Andis (born 30 Dec 1895 Evanston, WY; married Elmo Burris 09 Dec 1916 in Ely, White Pine, NV and had children: Wayne, Muriel, William E). We first find this William Andis family in 1900, in Butte Ward 7, Silver Bow, MT. By 1910, they are in LaGrande Ward 4, Union Co, OR. In 1920 the family is in San Luis Obispo, CA, where they lived out their lives. We speculate that William may be the son of Lilbourne Andis (based on place and date of birth), but we have no proof at this time. We believe that William could also be the same William Andis that married Alice Manhart in 1890 at Bear Lake Co, ID, but we need more documentation to confirm this, also.

1) Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Christian Co, Illinois: Andes, Marjorie 1912-1964. Some of the descendants of Henry Andis (c. 1815-1895) and Mary (Napier) Andis (born c. 1815) settled in this area. Marjorie is most likely connected to Wiley Parker Andis (1858-1939) and his wife, Mary Catherine (Raisner) Andis (1859-1910 to 1920). Wiley is Henry and Mary's son.

2) Effingham, Illinois: Elijah Andis married Sarah Bledsoe on January 26, 1889 in Union Township, Effingham Co, IL. Elijah was a farmer living in Jackson Township and was 38 years old (born c. 1851 IN). His parents are listed as William Andes and Sarah Andrews. Elijah was first married to Martha A Walls in Clark Co, IL on April 18, 1873. Martha is likely the daughter of Nehemiah Walls, and sister to Mary Jane Walls (born c. 1856), who married James Andis (c. 1847-1882) in Clark Co, Illinois. This was also Sarah Bledsoe's second marriage. She was living in Union Twp, and was 25 years of age, born Kentucky, with no other information.

Elijah's son, Edward Andes, (by first wife Martha) was married to Sarah E Carter at Brider Point, Effingham Co, IL on June 30, 1896. Edward was born and lived in Jackson Township, and was 22 years old (born c. 1874). Sarah E. Carter was 15, born Effingham Co, IL to Henry J. Carter and Martha E. Bangmar Carter. Consent for the marriage was given by J Carter, father.

There is also a birth in Clark Co, IL to Elijah Andis and Martha Walls: Andis, male, 27 Oct 1880.

The 1880 Federal census is the only place we find Elijah (spelled Eliga), and he is with his wife, Anna and children, Jane and Edward. The census states he was born c. 1851 Indiana.

4) Christian Co, Illinois: Bassini M Darsh (age 23) married Miss Marie L Andes (age 22) September 25, 1894. Of the Andis families that we can place in Christian, Co, IL, this could possibly be a daughter of Abel Andis (1838-1892) and Nancy (Juell) Andis (1840-). It would be the right time frame for their children, and we do have two unknown children born during that approximate period of time to Abel and Nancy.

We also have information that Sarah is the sister of Elizabeth Brown. 5) Indiana divorce: Helen Andis married Alfred E Grote, whom she divorced c. 17 Dec 1982 Indiana.

6) Greenfield, Hancock, Indiana death: Rebecca J. Marks married Robert E Andis, Jr. She died December 1, 2005 in Greenfield, IN with her husband surviving. Her parents were Norvell and Jean Frances Roberts Marks.

7) Lilbourne Andis (also Lilbourn, Lillebourn): Born in Virginia c. 1820; he married Julia Ann Simpson August 23, 1838 in Rush Co, IN. We find him in 1840 in Orange, Rush Co, IN (under Lilburn Andrews) with one son under 5 and wife. By 1850, he and his family have moved to Johnson Co, IN. In his household is wife Julia age 33, William age 10, Lewis age 4, and George age 2. In 1870, Lilbourn has moved to Dover, Shawnee, Kansas. In his household are Julia Ann (age 52, born KY) and son Isaac (age 19 born IN). We find Lilbourn in Mission, Shawnee Co, Kansas in 1880 with wife Julia and son Isaac. There is a possibility based on age and nativity that he is the son of Lilbourn and Mary Andis.
