Carl I. Miller, 90, of Carthage, died October 4 at Regency Place Nursing Home in Greenfield. He was born June 12, 1917, in Rush County, a son of the late Arnold and Maude (Wilson) Miller.

Mr. Miller lived in Carthage most of his life. He was a fence builder and farmer. He was an avid horse and dog trainer. Mr. Miller was a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. A former calf roper, he won numerous roping events and dog trials over the years.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (Andis) Miller of Carthage; two sons, Dave (friend, Cathie Ream) Miller of Carthage and Gary (wife, Carole) Miller of Greenfield; a daughter, Carolyn "Sis" (husband, Dick) Bonne of Greenfield; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph A. Miller; one daughter; two brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services were October 8 at Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown with Revs. David Bonne, Todd Reynolds and Pastor Marc Bundy officiating. Burial followed in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation was October 7 at the funeral home
