OBITUARY -- Mrs. C. W. Wahlquist died on Wednesday evening, February 17, at her home at No. 909 West Eldorado St., Decatur. She was 19 years 3 months and 29 days of age, and leaves a husband and two small children. The body was brought to this city on Friday and the funeral took place from the Christian church at three o'clock, conducted by Elder Lloyd Newcomer. The interment was in the Maroa cemetery. Mrs. Wahlquist was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Andis, now residing in Maroa. She was born at Xenia, Clay county Illinois, November 18, 1877. Soon after the family moved to Decatur where they resided until she was nine years of age, when they moved to Fulton county, Ark. On April 4, 1894, she was married to C. W. Wahlquist. They moved to Maroa soon afterwards, and resided here until the spring of 1896. Mr. Wahlquist was away from home at the time traveling in the interest of a road grader. A dispatch was sent him to Arthur, notifying him of his wife's illness, but as he was in the country it did not reach him for several hours. On receiving the telegram he took the first train home but did not arrive there until after his wife's death. Mr. Wahlquist has secured a home for the young child with a respectable family in Decatur.
