Miscellaneous Information

1) We have a copy of the marriage recording for Hannah and Eli.

2) We have a copy of the marriage license and marriage return for Eli and Rachel. They were married in Rachel's home. There is a discrepancy in the marriage date.

3) Wife (2) of Eli Andis: Rachel Watson - born c. 1841 Casey Co, KY; died 18 Feb 1900 Martin Co, IN - no obituary available in Martin Co during this timeframe; buried Old Salem Cemetery, Martin Co, IN - unmarked; daughter of John Watson (born c. 1799 TN or VA) and Nancy Ames (born c. 1804 TN or VA); c. 1860 Rachel married (1) Winepark Girdley (1842 Martin Co, IN-c. 1880-1888; son of William Alfred Girdley and Margaret Harriett McDonald); Rachel and Wineparke had children Alford, Jonathan Thomas, Nancy M, Charity, Alexander and Anjeline Girdley. Family states that Alford murdered someone in the 1880s and was in prision for the rest of his life.

4) We have various documents regarding land transactions by Matthias Andis (Eli's grandfather) and his heirs. They include purchase, sale and distribution of land in Washington Co, VA. These are very important documents to our research, as they conclusively tie Matthias, his children, and his grandchildren together.
