6) We have a copy of the purchase and sale of land in Daviess County, Indiana by John and Nancy.

7) When the family moved from Indiana to Kansas, they took the train.  They first made camp south of Virgil, Greenwood Co, Kansas (per Jesse Ralph Boman).  They lived - at different times - in the areas of Keck, New Albany and Independence, Kansas (per Charles Monroe Boman obituary).

8) Boman/Bowman note: Regarding this family line: All descendants of William and Julia Bowman spelled their name "Bowman" with the exception of John R Bowman.  After migrating from Indiana to Kansas, he changed his last name to "Boman".  Be sure to check both spellings of all Boman/Bowman entries when searching!  There are two family stories that might give an indication as to why the name was changed in this line:  1) John R Bowman and his father, William H Bowman were not on good terms when he left for Kansas.  2) The name was changed to take care of surname mix-ups at the local Kansas post office.  Neither story has been verified, so they remain just that - "stories".

9) We have a copy of John R's will and final distribution of property.
