1) When the family moved from Indiana to Kansas, they took
the train. They first made camp south of Virgil, Greenwood Co, Kansas
(per Jesse Ralph Boman). They lived - at different times - in the
areas of Keck, New Albany and Independence, Kansas (per
Charles Monroe Boman obituary)
2) John is mentioned as an heir in the will of his father, John R Boman. 3) John's daughter, Ida, recalled the story of their trip to California. The family went there in an effort to help John's illness (tuberculosis). 4) For some period of time, John Reed Boman worked on the world-famous 101 Ranch near Marland, Oklahoma. 5) We have a copy of John's WWI draft registration card (09 Sep 1918). He was of medium height, medium build, black hair, and grey eyes. 6) We have a copy of John Reed's obituary; cause of death: pulmonary tuberculosis.
