Landing at the top of the Linton-Stockton class of 2010 is Kelsey Andis.
Andis, daughter of Tom and Lisa Andis, will represent her class as valedictorian during graduation on Saturday.

She plans to attend Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in the fall and major in nursing.

"Before this year I didn't know what I wanted to do. I took an anatomy class this year and liked it," she explained, later adding that anatomy turned out to be her favorite class at LSHS.

As a nursing major, she wants to specialize in an area but has yet to decide on just what.

"I've also thought about becoming a nurse practitioner," Andis added.

Besides being a top student, her high school career has included sports like track, dance and volleyball and being a member of the National Honor Society, Junior Civitan and student council.

"I'm going to miss track a lot. That's my favorite thing ... and I'll also miss dance," Andis said.

Her advice to incoming seniors is work hard, play hard and enjoy the time you have.

"Don't procrastinate. I know you hear that all of the time, but it's true. ... Also try to have fun your senior year. It's the hardest year, it really is," she explained. "Enjoy the time you have here. You won't see the people here for much longer."

With all the hard work, it's no wonder she's looking forward to summer break and hopes to spend time between friends and a job.
