CONCLUSION of JH: Isaac Andis/Andes mar Susan DECK. For several reasons: (1) See 1880c, Lee Co. VA (above) wherein Susan Andis' is stated to have been born in VA, her father in NC and her mother in PA. Go to the 1880c, WCV, Kinderhook Dist., from when this family migrated to Lee Co., and the only family found with a similar birth pattern is: 1880c, WCV, Kinderhook: 188/188: DECK, Joseph, 57, VA/NC/PA; Susanna, 56; Mary E., 29; John B., 19; Nancy A., 17; Rachel F., 14; Joseph S., 11/// 189/189: DECK, Simon, 28; Lenetta, 32, TN/VA/TN; William B., 3, VA/VA/TN; Hannah E., 7/12, Sep, VA/VA/TN; GAMMON, Susan, 19 [cousin], TN/TN/TN. (2) In the 1850c, WCV, one HH from Isaac Anders and Susan are: HH1780: Shaver, Henry, 37; Mary M. (Mary Mahala DECK), 32; Martha, 16; John, 12; Barbary, 10; Michael, 8; Mary, 6; Wm., 10/12. (3) Rootsweb states, (blank) [This is Margaret - see HH1877, 1850c, WCV -jh] Deck, b. 1816; d. 18 Feb 1876 Lee Co. VA, mar. Berryhill M. Fleenor (note migratory pattern). Their son, Joseph Fleenor is living in Jonesville, Lee Co. VA, 1880c; (4) Note the oldest s/o Susan, Simon and note the Simon Deck (1810-10 Dec 1890, Sul Co TN) and 1860c, WCV HH2207/2146: Deck, Joseph, 38; Susan [Sproles], 34; Mary, 10; Simon, 8; Martha, 4; John, 11/12. Although not enumerated in the will of Michael Deck (only one daughter, a brother, and wife are!) or listed among his supposed children (Perhaps a too early marriage might not have pleased Michael!), I believe Susan to have been a d/o Michael Deck, b. NC [s/o Adam andSusannah!] and Mary Houser, b. PA, and hitherto not listed as their child. Isaac Andis died in 1855, so the couple had a limited number of children, apparently. (5) I would further surname that Susan is named for her supposed grandmother, Susannah, mother of Michael Deck./// UPDATE: Conclusive proof of Susan/Susannah Deck (Andis) was just found 23 Dec 09 - see WCV WB 15 (1860-1863): 47: (contd.) … JOSEPH DECK Executor of MICHAEL DECKdecd.
