James R. Carter
James R. Carter, 88, of Arcadia, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013
at home. He was born on May 6, 1924 to Shelby & Marsha (Owens) Carter in St.
Charles, Virginia.
James was retired from International Harvester, where he had been
a millwright for 30 years. He proudly served his country in the
United States Navy, and was a WWII veteran. He had farmed and/or been
around farming since the age of 10; and was a member of Fellowship
Baptist Church in Noblesville.
He is survived by son, James "Jim" R. (Beverly) Carter; two grandchildren,
Chad (April) Carter and Brian Carter; one great-grandchild, Cole Carter; and
a sister, Elsie (Bill) Thomas.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie
Rae Carter (August 28, 2010); and a sister, Helen Parsons.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at
Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, with
Pastor John Davis & Pastor Jeff Young officiating. Visitation will be
Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis, where military
rites will be presented.
