Obituary - Alice May (Smith) Andis

Alice Andis, age 75, of Yukon, passed away April 1, 2009 in Yukon. 

She was born August 15, 1933 in Cashion, OK to Claude and Allie (Armstrong) Smith. She worked for AT&T/SW Bell for 20 years as an information operator. Ms. Andis was a member of the Williams Memorial Church of the Nazarene where she played piano on Wednesday evening services, led a small group and was secretary for her Sunday school class, Circle of Prayer. She was also involved with the missionary ministry and was a member of the missionary board. She served as the Sunday school statistician for the SWOK district for many years. At the Yukon senior center, Ms. Andis enjoyed singing in the Silver Chords and practicing Tai Chi. She participated in Paula's Daughters, Golden Sagers, the Profit Network Stock Club, selling Avon, and was the secretary for the board of directors as well as a volunteer dispatcher for the Richland Volunteer Fire Department. She also had interests in agriculture and raising animals. 

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Emmett, her parents and a brother Delbert Smith. 

Survivors include her daughters, Donna Paddock and husband Jimmy of OKC, Santhia Smith of Yukon, Dena Weber and husband Larry of Westphalia, KS, Martha Laws of Yukon, and Marsha Morris of Yukon; sister Lois Catron and husband Delbert of Greenville, IL; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in the Williams Memorial Church of the Nazarene in OKC with burial to follow in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
