Alva S. Bechdoldt

Alva Smith Bechdoldt, 81, of Batesville died Tuesday morning in a Heber Springs hospital. Born in Effingham, Ill., she was a homemaker and a member of the Ramsy Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, George Bechdoldt of Junction City, Kan., Bill Bechdoldt of Prague, Neb., and Jim Bechdoldt and Gene Bechdoldt, both of Batesville; three daughters, Ruth Scott and Mary Emberton, both of Kensett, and Lois Butler of Batesville; 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Bechdoldt, and two sons, Robert T. Bechdoldt and Henry Dean Bechdoldt.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Ramsey Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Forrest Priest officiating. Burial will be in the Hutchinson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons; Gary Scott, Tom Bechdoldt, Jim Ed Bechdoldt, Eric Butler, Shane Butler and Sid Langley.

Arrangements are by the Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
