Robert Hasse

Robert "Bob" Hasse, age 74, of Worden, died at 2:44 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1929, in Litchfield, the son of the late Gus and Louise Meyer Hasse.

He married Joan Ooton on Aug. 10, 1951, in Edwardsville. She survives.

Also surviving is a son: Bob Hasse of Worden; a daughter: Debra Kolb of Worden; and an grandson: Kevin Kolb of Worden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: James Hasse.

Mr. Hasse was a factory worker at Olin Corporation in East Alton for 10 years, retiring in 1994. He had previously worked 27 years at A.O. Smith in Granite City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict era, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart medal. His memberships included Machinists Union Local 660 in East Alton, and the Worden American Legion.

Visitation was conducted on Sunday, Dec. 14, at Williamson Funeral Home in Worden.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, at the funeral home with Rev. Jackie Harvis-Shear officiating.

Interment will be at Worden City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Worden Fire District or the charity of donor's choice.
