Bruce Elvon Bevers was born April 16, 1932 to Leo and Leona Bevers in Los Angeles, Calif.

Growing up in Los Angeles, he participated in sports and sang in the choir at the Baptist Church.

He spent two years in the Air Force where he learned to fly and became an electronics instructor.

Bruce then worked for Lockheed for 13 years on the F-104. He owned White Acres Nursing Home and Teletronics TV repair and Leos Construction in Freeland and became a registered nurse from 1965 to 1974.

Bruce started CNAs a Plenty (a nurses registry) in Denver, Colo. He loved flying, ham radio, chess, teaching and learning.

Bruce held three bachelors degrees and one masters degree along with certifications in electronics, medical and commercial piloting.

Bruce was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter and brothers Lane and Dale.

He is survived by children Carlene Sullivan of Lynnwood, Scott and Margielyn Bevers of Clinton, Cherie Bevers and Dick Topp of Monroe, and Shawn and Michael Bevers of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren Brooke and Steve Krueger of Seattle, Kerri Sullivan of Camas, Jonathan Bevers of Gowrie, Iowa, Lucas, Amara and Annikamae Bevers of Clinton, Oliver and Kaori Topp of Shoreline, Hansen and Carly Topp of Woodinville, and Allie and Lauren Topp of Monroe; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Clinton. A reception will follow at the home of Scott and Margielyn Bevers.

Dad, you were quite a character.
