Charles C. Dougherty

Blountville - Charles Clifton Dougherty, 78, of Blountville passed away April 20, 2007 at his home after an extended illness. Charles was born April 5, 1929 Kingsport to the late James Claude and Mamie McClain Dougherty has resided in Sullivan County for mos of his life life . He was a United States Navy Veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Mason Dixon Company where he was a truck driver for 3O years. He was a Methodist and a member of the Catlett Masonic Lodge 35 F & AM.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Dougherty.
Surviving Charles are his wife, Eula Clark Dougherty of the home; daughter, Sherry Emmert and husband, Lawrence, of Blountville; sons, Charles Dougherty and wife Linda, Blountville and Gray Dougherty and wife, Sherry of Kingsport; grandchildren, Nathan Emmert and wife Christian, NY, Evan Emmert, Blountville, Maggie Emmert, Blountville and Lea Dougherty, Kingsport; brother, Carrol Dougherty, California; sisters, Kate Warren, Weber City, VA and Beverly Fields, California; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted at 8 p.m. in the East Lawn Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Millard Johnson officiating. Military graveside services were conducted in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Blountville, by Charles DeWitt Honorary Pallbearers will be David Warren, Freddie Warren, Edward Clendemn, Glen Feagins, Everette Cox, Freddie Thompson and Monty Lark The family would like to thank Dr. Mack Matthews III, the nurses and staff with Kingsport Hematology-Oncology and Wellmont Hospice.
