Charles Selby Fillers

On February 15, 2010, Charles Selby Fillers was welcomed into the open arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mr. Fillers was born December 8, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio to Jay Arnold and Bonnie Fillers. He resided briefly in Kingsport, Tennessee with his wife, Ada and their five daughters before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1974.

Mr. Fillers enjoyed a great many things in his life. A truck driver by trade, he was also a self proclaimed gifted singer, song writer and guitar player, who delighted in gathering with family and friends to sing classic country melodies, gospel hymns and play blue grass music. His family can attest to his talent as a story teller and comedian. Later in life, his enjoyment included playing Wii bowling with his grandchildren and fishing with his daughters.

By God's mercy and grace, Mr. Fillers passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved so dearly. He is survived by his daughters Ronda Johnson and husband Richard, Gwen Danley and husband Don, Tina Starnes and husband Mike, Tonya Snipes and husband Tommy and Ginger Lowe and husband Ronnie. He was blessed to be the grandfather of thirteen children and great grandfather of six. Mr. Fillers is also survived by brother Bill Fillers of Trotwood, Ohio and sisters Jenetta Van Hoose of Huber Heights, Ohio and Eva Fisher of Kettering, Ohio. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Ada Allen Fillers, his father and mother Jay Arnold and Bonnie Fillers and brothers Junior and Don Fillers.

Mr. Fillers, known by his closest friends as "Charlie Brown" will be missed by many. The laughter and love he brought to each of our lives will be carried on in our hearts.
In celebration of his life, a private graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 2 PM at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Kingsport, Tennessee.
