Charles R. Weirauch

1929-2009

Charles Richard "Charlie" Weirauch, 80, of Cheyenne died peacefully Oct. 24, surrounded by his family at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

Charlie was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Fort Pierre, S.D. He had a distinguished career in the United States Air Force beginning in 1951. He served for more than 20 years including three overseas tours in Germany, Vietnam and Puerto Rico. Additionally, he served in Albuquerque, N.M., where he met Shirley "Lee" Dullea. They married June 30, 1956.

He was preceded in death by Lee; his parents, Doris and Chuck Weirauch; and his brother, Jack.

Charlie is survived by his children, Pam (Robbie) Robinson, Kathy (Ken) Hamilton, Chuck Weirauch, Laurie (Ivar) Hildahl, Toni (Bryan Godfrey) Weirauch and Patty (Larry) Conde. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Trina Lester, Jamie Robinson, Ian Hamilton, Cole and Kate Hildahl; and three great-grandchildren.

Charlie will be missed by his family and many longtime Cheyenne friends.

A celebration of his life will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the American Legion Post No. 6 with Bobby Hoard officiating.

Military honors provided by the American Legion Honor Guard. Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

Friends may donate to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in lieu of flowers.
