BROWN, CHRISTINE ELIZABETH

Passed away on Thurs. Dec. 30, 2004 of leukemia. Born Dec. 3, 1910, to Elijah and Ida Andis at their farm home on Barton Rd. (formerly Palm Ave.) in Grand Terrace, she graduated from Colton High in 1927, worked for the Tip Top Laundry on Brockton at 14th, where she met Clifford A. Brown. They married on Aug. 25, 1929. 

Their children Frances, Ted, and Nancy were born 1937 to 1944 at Loma Linda. They restored the Victorian house (built 1888) at 4475 12th St., from 1946 to 1967. Together with Cliff's parents, Ernest and Frances Nadeau, they established a heavy equipment parts store, Contractors Service Company, in 1948, originally located on Arlington Ave., now operating on Fremont St. 

She was active in PTA at Grant School, Central Jr. High, and Poly High, as well as The Delphians Club and local bridge groups. After Cliff's death in 1969, Chris worked at CSC for 2 Yrs. with her son, then moved permanently to Leisure World in Laguna Hills. 

Her three children, four grandchildren, Cynthia McCarley and Steve Peters of Riverside, and Cliff and Tiffany Brown of Oregon, plus 8 great-grandchildren, survive her. Her ashes will be buried Fri. Jan. 14, at 2PM in a graveside service, conducted by Rev. Don Kutz, at Olivewood Cemetery.
