DON OSMON

Don E. Osmon, 74, formerly of Plainville, died Tuesday evening at his residence in Washington.

Born Dec. 27, 1931, in Monroe City, he was the son of George and Lora Edith (Andis) Osmon.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, he attended Vincennes University and Purdue University, where he received a bachelor of science degree from the school of technology. From 1960 to 1986, he worked as a manufacturing engineer and in manufacturing management positions in the private industry. In 1977 he became a registered professional engineer. From 1986 to 1996, he was a building and factory inspector for Indiana Occupational and Safety Adminstration.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Madolyn and James Brown of Indianapolis and Jackie and Jeff Livingston of Phoenix, Ariz.; son, Matthew “Matt” Osmon of Bloomington; one grandchild, Audra McClelland; and fishing buddy, Aaron Wade.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Charles and Lloyd Osmon, and two sisters, Lova Louise Small and Martha Ellen Bedford.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home, Odon Chapel. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
