Elaine Medler - BRADENTON, FLA.

BRADENTON, Fla. - Elaine Starr Medler died of natural causes June 1, 2009, with all three of her daughters at her bedside.

She was born December 5, 1919, in Johnson City, TN, to Henry Lee Starr and Cora Glover Starr. In 1948, she married Rowland Medler, her devoted husband of 57 years.

She was active in the Gainesville First United Methodist Church until she moved to Bradenton, FL, to live with her daughter and devoted caregiver, Marilee Bell and her husband, Mike Bell. She is also survived by two other daughters, Jan and Tim Walden, of Birmingham, AL, Sue and Chris Sharp, of Gainesville. She has three grandchildren: Matthew Whitlock, Alden and Jennifer Sharp.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2005, and a brother, Lee Starr. She is a cousin of Jimmy Starr, of Johnson City.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, June 7th at 2:00 p.m. at Gainesville First United Methodist Church with Dr. Harold Henderson and Rev. Carl Romey officiating.

A reception will take place before the service at 12:30 p.m. at the church.
