The Rosary for Sister Ermelinda Cannady, 97, will be 4 p.m. today and the Wake is at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Annunciation Chapel at Our Lady of the Lake Convent Center, San Antonio. Arrange-ments are by Angelus Funeral Home, San Antonio.

She was born April 5, 1909, in Blackwell and died Saturday, March 3, 2007, in San Antonio.

She became a Sister of Divine Providence at 18. She began her ministerial life at St. Edward's School in Texarkana, Ark., in 1927. In the 63 years that followed, she taught in schools throughout Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma. She was principal at St. Joseph's School during her ministry in Enid and pastoral minister for 17 years at St. Francis Xavier Church. She retired in 1990 to Our Lady of the Lake Convent Center in San Antonio.

Surviving are her Sisters of Divine Providence.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
