Ernest Scott Sr
The funeral for Ernest C. Scott Sr., 65, of Devils Lake, formerly of Leeds
and Brinsmade, was held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Aaker, Dunnigan and Brooks
Funeral Home in Devils Lake. Interment was in the Leeds Lutheran Cemetery. He
died May 13, 1996 at his home in Devils Lake.
Rev. Keith Nelson officiated. Music was by Sid Bingaman and Sandra Rekkedahl.
Pallbearers were: Jack Ford Jr., Jonathan and Nick Ebertz, Alvin Bragg, Rodney
Mills and Allen Strong.
Ernest Calvin Scott Sr. was born Sept. 21, 1930 in Brinsrnade to Paul and
Brada Sargent Scott. He was reared and attended school at Brinsmade. On May 29,
1954 he married Arlene Bragg at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Devils Lake. They
lived at Brinsmade, Indiana and Leeds before moving to Devils Lake in 1990.
Survivors include his wife of Devils Lake; two sons and a daughter-in-law,
Joseph Scott of Idaho and Ernest Jr. and Julie Scott of Washington; two
daughters, Mary Alice Ford and LaDonna Scott of Devils Lake; a brother and
sister-in-law, Francis and Florence Scott of Fargo; and a sister-in-law,
Charlene Scott of Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Virgil and Lloyd.
