Obituary - Florence Elizabeth (Brown) Herrin

Florence was born in Covington on September 4, 1905 to Purley Andrew and

Gertrude Ann Allen Brown and died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Hennessey Care
Center.

 

Florence attended country schools in the Covington area and graduated from
Covington High School in 1922. She attended Phillips University. She taught
school, and worked in the Post Office. She worked at Ben Franklin and C. R.
Anthony's in Hennessey and at Armor in Enid during WWII.
She married Clarence E. Herrin in Enid on November 13, 1924.

 

Florence is survived by two sons, Clarence Herrin Jr. and wife V. Bea of
Honobia, Dwaine Herrin and wife Jennie of Cassville, Missouri; one sister,
Marjorie House of McCurtain; one brother Charles Leonard Brown of Gilmore,
Texas, six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and twenty great-great
grandchildren.
