Frank Markwalter
Frank Joseph Markwalter, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2008. He was born in Bristol, Tennessee on February 7, 1921, to the late John Matthew Markwalter and Dora Mae Markwalter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Persons Markwalter, and daughter, Patricia Ann Markwalter; brothers, Fred (twin), Ernest, Charles, William, and Hubert, and sisters Lucille Markwalter, Mary Ringley, and Margaret Davis.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Bristol, a former member of King Masonic Lodge, and was retired from Norfolk & Southern Railway after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his son, Frank W. Markwalter and his wife Nancy; daughters, Judy Shelley and Linda Elsea and her husband Charles; brother Robert and his wife Emily; sisters Betty Jackson, Dorothy Markwalter, and Edith Wilson; nice grandchildren, David Markwalter, Leslie Toner and her husband, Todd Markwalter, Ken Markwalter and his wife Barbara, Amy Tschirhart and her husband Bill, Tom Shelley and his wife Karen, Jonathan Shelley, Wendy and Cindy Scales, and three great-grandchildren, LeeAnn and Ethan Markwalter and Will Tschirhart.
His family will hold a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Wellmont Hospice House or The Humane Society of Bristol.
