Gustavus Keesling was born in
Witt county Virginia, March 17Th, 1840.
Came to Delaware county, Ind.
when about twenty-one years of age,
later coming to Johnson county where he
resided until his death which occurred
Jan. 11th.,1909. Aged sixty eight years,
nine months and Twenty four days.

He was married to Martha A.Rush, Sept.3,1863.
To this union were born nine children, six of

Brother Keesling united with the M.E. church
thirty-three years ago during a meeting conducted
by Rev. Keat. He was faithful to his church and a
lover of Sunday school and was one of its most
failhful attendants as long as his health would permit.
He was a trustee of the church and took a active part
in the construction of the new church and the second
of that board to be called away.

His last sickness was of long duration lasting more
than two years of great suffering: the last year of
his sickness he was helpless and required constant
attention, and all was done that loving hands could do
for his relief. He bore his afflictions and intense
suffering patiently, and said at different times that
his trust was in God and that he would he glad to go,
that he might be rid of his sulfering.
