Shawnee resident James W. Nail went to be with our lord Tuesday, May 24, at the young age of 75 years, five months, and nine days.

He was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Byars to George and Bessie Nail.

Nail had worked as a farmer, rancher and oil field worker. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 serving in Korea.

He was the best husband, loving father, wonderful grandfather and a very happy great-grandfather.

Nail is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clayton Nail.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Nail, of the home; three children and their spouses, Judy and Michael Davis of Claremore, Jimmy and Evelyn Nail of Las Vegas, and Jerry and Terri Nail of Pauls Valley; grandchildren, James L. Nail of Wayne, Jerry Nail Jr and his wife, Jami, of Shawnee, Jaime Davis of Claremore; great-grandchildren, Jordan Davis of Claremore and Jessica Nail of Shawnee; sister and brother-in-law, Geneva and Cecil Franklin of Yamhill, Ore.; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Eugene and Pauline Nail of Asher, Edith Nail of Tecumseh, and Glenn and Bessie Nail of Wanette.

Service will be 10 a.m. today chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Kurt Beauford officiating. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery.
