John A. Walls

John A. Walls, 59, of Terre Haute died at 4:56 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2004, in St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was born Dec. 20, 1944, in Terre Haute to Leslie Vernon Walls and Vera Barnes Walls. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Naughgle Walls; one son, Chris Keiser and his wife Mona of Center Point; his mother of Bridgeport, Ill.; one sister, Bernice Gossett of Bridgeport; one granddaughter, Michaela Ashlyn Keiser of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and one sister, Betty Hoopingarner. 

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Fort Harrison Post 40 American Legion, Lawton-Byrum Post 972 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tai Chi Club, Wabash Valley Senior Citizens, Kentucky Colonels and Fraternal Order of Police. He bowled for Union Hospital League. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in Callahan Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Deal officiating. 

At the deceased's request, burial will be at sea. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
