Karen A. Harris, 67, residing in South Bend, Ind., died at 4:35 a.m. Thursday. March 23, 2006, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She was born on January 16, 1939, in Davis County, Indiana to Wilsie and Ruby (Groves) Browning and has resided in South Bend since 1963, coming from Davis County. On December 22, 1963, in Washington, Ind., she married Walter R. Harris, who survives.

Along with her husband, Walter, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Dan Wolkiewicz of South Bend; daughter-in-law, Sandy Harris of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, John Adams, Jim Adams, Kristy Wolkiewicz, Daniel L. Wolkewicz, Stephanie Hooks, Brad Harris, Rick Harris and Betty Joan McGhee; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother and sister-in-law, Verland and Bernice Browning of South Bend.

Mrs. Harris received her L.P.N. diploma in Dayton, Ohio. She worked as an L.P.N. at Westville Correctional Center and Osteopathic Hospital, South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2006, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Steven Meck will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
