Latrecia A. White

Aug. 15, 1933- May 5, 2005

Latrecia A. White passed away May 5, 2005, at Southern Pines Nursing Center in New Port Richey, Fla. Latrecia was born Aug. 15, 1933, in Clarendon, Texas. She met her husband, Glen E. White, Jr., when she was only 15. They were married Feb. 2, 1952, in Carlsbad.

Latrecia was a retired legal secretary and also a homemaker. When her husband retired from the City of Farmington they purchased a travel trailer and did some traveling. After their travels they purchased a home in Yuma, Ariz. It was just last year that they decided to sell that home and move to Florida to be near one of their sons. They moved into Florida while most people were heading out of the state during the hurricane season of 2004.

Although the family was spread out almost to all Four Corners of the U.S., they were all able to be together the Christmas of 2002 in Dana Point, Calif. At this time Latrecia met her great-grandson Nolan, who was born on her birthday in 2001. She also got to hold her great-granddaughter, Madyson, who was only a month old at the time. Latrecia enjoyed cooking and lovingly prepared and collected many recipes, which she neatly organized in a file to be used again and again over the years.

She passed on them on to her children and grandchildren when they called and asked for a favorite recipe. She taught her daughter-in-law how to fix many meals because her son wanted his wife "to cook like his mama". Latrecia is preceded in death by her parents, Jennie Lee and Marshall Wilford Andis of Amarillo, Texas, and her brother, Bob Andis of Bloomfield.

Latrecia is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Glen E. White, Jr. of New Port Richey; her sister, Ethel Lee Diamond of Juneau, Alaska; her brother, Marshall Andis of Wheeler, Texas; her two sons, Rodney Kirk White and his wife, Patricia A. of Anacortes, Wash., and Curtis Lynn White of Port Richey; her three grandsons, Justin L. White and his wife, Cynthia A. of Burlington, Wash., Jared L. White of Bellevue, Wash., and Jeffrey L. White and his wife, Brittany K. of Sultan, Wash., and her two great-grandchildren, Nolan M. White and Madyson A. White. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many friends. She will be greatly missed.
