Lester Gilbert

Lester Gilbert, age 56, died in a local hospital Sunday. He was a maintenance
employee at Henderson State College here.
Mr. Gilbert was a former resident of Batesville and Independence County.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Martha Smith Gilbert of the home; three sons,
Thomas Lambert, Zack Lambert and Lester James Gilbert all of Arkadelphia; four
daughters, Mrs. Edna Murrel and Mrs. Annie Witherspoon of Arkadelphia, Miss
Barbara Gilbert of and Miss Aline Gilbert both of the home; three brothers,
Chester Gilbert and George Rogers of Batesville and James Rogers of Newport;
three sisters, Mrs. Wanda Lee Edwards of Batesville, Mrs. Josephine Green of
California and Mrs. Iva Lee Martin of Arizona; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Hutchison Church of Christ.
Burial will be in Hutchison Cemetery with Batesville Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.
