Lois Adelaide (Tucker) Rush, formerly of Cañon City, CO and Denver, died Nov. 20, 2004, at the home of her daughter, Jennifer, and son-in-law, Frederick Justis in Conroe, Texas.

She was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Portland, to Jay Alexander and Dorothy Mae (Cozad) Tucker. She was married to Floyd Andrew Rush Jr., Cañon City, who until his death in 1971, was Chief Steward at the Colorado State Penitentiary and lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves.

Mrs. Rush was active in the Girl Scouts for many years and employed at the former J. M. MacDonald Company. Mrs. Rush was a fourth generation Coloradoan and grew up in the Wetmore-Florence area, where her family had a ranch and home. After her marriage in 1944, she lived in Tacoma, Wash., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Augusta, Ga., and Fort Leavenworth, Kan., while her husband was on active duty with the Army. They returned to Cañon City in 1957 and Mrs. Rush remained there until 1974, when she moved to Denver. In 1993, she moved to Houston, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Justis; Jeannine Glover; two grandchildren, John Rush Glover, Jennifer Bedore Mandeville; great-grandmother to three boys, Holden Jameson and Brendan Patrick Mandeville, and Renzo Dougray Glover; sister-in-law, Mable Curtis Tucker; three nephews, Douglas Tucker, Allen Tucker, Harry Jay Tucker; niece, Donna Cornelio James; 12 great nieces and nephews; and a cousin, George (Ruby) Hall Deer Trail.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Faye Richard Tucker, Pueblo, and LaMoyne Alexander Tucker, Florence.

Interred with her husband at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Arrangements were handled by Addison-Smith Funeral Home in Willis, Texas.
