SMITH, Loretta  Age 70, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2006. 

She was born on April 28, 1935 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Willie and Iva Mae (Boulware) Jinkins. She moved at the age of twelve with her family to Myrtle Creek, Oregon, where she was raised and educated. She was united in marriage to Jerell Smith on November 20, 1952, in Roseburg. They lived in Myrtle Creek until about ten years ago when they moved to the Roseburg area. Loretta worked as a care provider for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and reading as well as fishing and camping. But she very much loved her grandchildren. 

She was a member of the Gateway Faith Center. 

She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Jerell of Roseburg; her children, Helen Neis and her husband, David of Springfield, Oregon; Barbara Hampton and her husband, Scott of Days Creek, Oregon; Vonnie Goodin and her husband, Steve of Orangevale, California; Amos Smith and his wife, Zae; Tommy Smith and his wife, Teresa, all of Roseburg; sister, Vonnie Whitten and her husband, Hershel of Roseburg; grandchildren, Heather; Ben and his his wife, Dorothy; Ashlea; Joshua; Alexia and her husband, Blaze; Dustin; Sara Beth; Christopher; Stephanie; Jacqueline; Kiera; Charlie; Seth and Shawna Ann; great-grandchildren, Eli; Nathaniel; Shandiin; Alexis; Eliana; Ryan Scott and Abreana; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Smith; parents; brother; Jim Jinkins; and sister, Willie Mae Albright. 

Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, May 6, 2006, at the Gateway Faith Center, located at 1643 S.E. Jackson St. in Roseburg. Officiating will be Pastor Tim Skelly.
