Marvin O. Webber

May 31, 1933 - June 15, 2004

MIDDLETOWN  Marvin Owen Webber, 71, Middletown, ascended to his Heavenly Father on June 15, 2004, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis after a very brief illness.

He was born May 31, 1933, in Doylestown, Ohio, and lived most of his life in Anderson and Middletown. He worked for Delco Remy for 36 years before retiring in 1987 as superintendent of architectural engineering for General Motors Division Worldwide. He was a private consultant of his company. He owned and operated Raintree Counting Co.

He attended Trinity Community Church in Daleville and was a charter member of Tabor Baptist Church in Muncie. He was a 1951 graduate of Anderson High School. He taught Bible Study Fellowship at First United Methodist Church in Anderson. He was a former board member of Liberty Christian School.

He liked old cars and had a Model A 1929 Roadster. He liked tractors. He enjoyed remodeling their cottage on Webster Lake at North Webster. Old cars and tractors plus antiques and just junk captured his interest. He has some of all of these items. More important to him than anything he has been allowed to do through the Grace and Mercy that God has extended to him in providing His Son Jesus for our salvation.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Judith (Barnard) Webber of Middletown, whom he married Oct. 10, 1953; two sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip Douglas and Debby Webber and Timothy Scott and Brenda Webber, all of Middletown; three granddaughters, Ashley, Kelsey and Brittany; a grandson, Corey; a great-granddaughter, Taylor; brother and sister-in-law, Rolland and Betty Webber of Anderson; sister, Madge Castor of Anderson.

Also surviving are special friends, The Old High School Gang  Carolyn and Dick Miller, Barbara and Chuck LaVallee, Dean and Nancy Newhouse and numerous other friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Stella (Fielder) Webber; and a brother, Harold Webber.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, Anderson, with Pastor Paul Pletcher of Trinity Community Church of Daleville officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, east of Middletown.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Middletown Fire Department EMT or Trinity Community Church.
