IRRIGON - Mary Ellen (Miner) Timmins died Wednesday, April 16, at her home in Irrigon at the age of 59.
She was born Oct. 23, 1948 at Sacramento, Calif., to Guy Earl Miner Sr. and Harriet Evelyn (Brekke) Miner.
Mary grew up in Lincoln, Calif., and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966. She loved to spend the summer at the family summer home in Kyburz, Calif. Mary worked at McClellan Air Force Base for 16 years. On June 17, 1989 she married Robert Fay "Bob" Timmins at Lincoln. They moved to Irrigon after her husband's job took them to the Hermiston area in 1996. Mary loved to sing Karaoke and camp on the Oregon coast (especially at South Beach State Park just south of Newport).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Harriet Miner.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 19 years, Bob Timmins of Irrigon; brother, Guy E. "Butch" Miner Jr. of Lincoln, Calif.; two sisters, Helen E. Bennett and Lezlie E. Dorsett both of Rocklin, Calif.; her mother-in-law; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; 13 nephews and nieces; four grandnephews and grandnieces; four stepchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19, at 7 p.m. at Columbia View Community Church in Irrigon. Disposition was by cremation.
Mary requested no flowers please, but memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Mary's name.
