Paul Richard Eads

Paul Richard Eads, 64, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, in the Holston Valley Medical Center. 

Born to the late Joseph Austin and Stella Nannie Clark Eads, he had moved back to Bristol 12 years ago from Richlands, Va., where he had lived since 1967. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, a member of the choir, on the finance committee and was active in the Food Bank of the church. Paul retired from Nabisco Inc. with over 30 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many and will be missed by all. 

His parents; two brothers, Austin and Thurman Eads; and one sister, Naomi Stewart preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Stella Mae Worley Eads; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and husband Emory Houchins of Kingsport; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Harvey and wife, Carolyn, of Johnson City, Tenn., Jeff and wife, Dianna, of Bristol, Va., and Kevin Eads of Bristol, Va.; two brothers, R.D. Eads and Bill Eads; four sisters, Lois Stewart, Edna Denton, Ida Cullop and Iva Worley, all of Bristol, Va. Six grandchildren also survive.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, in the Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Davis, Rev. Rayton Puckett and the Rev. Bob Steele officiating. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Community Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, from 6 till 8 p.m. at Castle Funeral Home. Castle Funeral Home, 14298 Lee Highway, Bristol, Va., is serving the Eads family.
