Obituary - Randall Millis Oakes

Randall Millis Oakes, 57, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sept. 25, 2008. Born Feb. 15, 1951, in Riverside, he lived and worked in Hesperia for 52 years. After attending the University of Pittsburgh, he was the owner and operator of Don Oakes Lumber for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Donald K. Oakes.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patty; daughter Krista Lee Spring and her husband, Richard Spring; son Randall Brandon Oakes and his wife, Mandy Oakes; mother, Anne Sandefur Oakes; sister Luanne Oakes; brothers Gregory and his wife, Linda, and Toby and his wife, Jonna; three grandchildren, Noah James, Kendall Olivia, and Josiah Bruce Spring.

Randy was well known throughout the High Desert for his handiwork in construction, tile work and rebuilding cars. He was a member of High Desert Church in Victorville.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at Victor Valley Mortuary, 15609 11th St. in Victorville. A celebration of his life will be held at noon Tuesday, Sept. 30, at High Desert Church, 14545 Hook Blvd. in Victorville.
