Retta Faye Phariss

The graveside service for Retta Faye Phariss, 82, of White City, Ore., who died on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at the Eagle Point Veterans Cemetery, Eagle Point, Ore. Minister Bill Hare will officiate.
Mrs. Phariss was born on October 7, 1927, in Weatherford, Okla. On October 13, 1952, in Reno, Nev., she married Robert O. Phariss, who survives. After their marriage, they moved to Prospect, Ore. Shortly after, Mr. Phariss joined the U.S. Air Force; Retta followed him as much as she could. They moved back to Oregon in 1969. She was employed with Harry and David for 19 years. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Medford.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three sons, Curtis Miller, , John Phariss and Daniel Phariss, all of White City, Ore.; one brother, Gilbert Leedy, of Dinuba, Calif.; three sisters, Colleen Slater, of Kennewick, Wash., Sue Patee, of Lakeside, Ore. and Georgetta Pentecost, of Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild due Christmas day.
Retta enjoyed life very much. She loved western music and dancing. She had no special hobbies, but would try anything. Always willing to help when called upon. Retta loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and she loved to travel in their motorhome.
Retta was Retta, and could never pretend to be anyone else but herself. Anyone who knew her would agree.
She leaves this message... "Enjoy life while you can and do the things you want to do."
