PINEY FLATS Roy Jennair Feathers, 91, 116 Belle Avenue, Piney Flats passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006 at his residence.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late William J. and Mary Elizabeth Vest Feathers. He was a graduate of Happy Valley High School and attended Milligan College. He played basketball for both schools.

Mr. Feathers lived in Johnson City for several years before moving to Piney Flats. He was a retired Salesman with Summers Hardware having worked there for 45 years. He was a member of the Piney Flats First Baptist Church, a Member of M.M. Martin Masonic Lodge No. 547, F&AM for over 68 years. He was a member of the York Rite and Jericho Shrine Temple. Mr. Feathers was the oldest living member of Utopia Chapter No. 27, Order of Eastern Star where he had served as Worthy Patron six different times, last serving in 2004 for the 100th anniversary of the Chapter.

In his earlier years he enjoyed playing Golf. He was President and Co-Administrator of the Pelham Humphries Heirs Association. He was preceeded in death by his first wife: Vivian Allison Feathers, A Step-Son: David Lindamood and five sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife: Nancy Lindamood Feathers. A Step-Daughter and Her husband: Debbie & Larry Mullins, Piney Flats. Three Step-Grandchildren: Justin Mullins, Travis Mullins and Heather Mullins. Several Nieces & Nephews. Also his special Pets: Casper, Fred, Miss Kitty and Bouncer.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Allen Davis and Rev. Reed Mullins officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Music will be provided by John Tuell, Soloist and Scott Reynolds, Organist. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday will be: Jack Jones, Marvin Hyatt, Wayne Hodge, Herb Curde, Frank Curde, Kenneth Street, Scott Feathers and Mark Torbett. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Earl Kaylor, Stanley Mullins, Larry Mullins, Justin Mullins, Travis Mullins, Euell Goodman, Jim Lipps, Terry Jones, Hyder Brown, his Nieces & Nephews, all Masonic Bodies and Eastern Star Chapters of Tennessee.

The family would like to express a special Thanks to Adventa Hospice and Gwen Mathers, whose professional and personal care during his infirmity was Invaluable. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
