Sam Andis Dies Tues., Nov. 23rd;
Memorial Service Mon., Nov. 29th

Samuel D. Andis. age 85, of 615 S. 7th Street, Vincennes, passed away at 10:35 a.m., on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Bridge Pointe Health Campus. He was born on November 23, 1925, near Shoals, the son of the late Ira T. and Lessie (English) Andis. He married Dorothy L. Flori on June 12, 1948, and she preceded him in death August 31, 2004. Samuel was a graduate of Shoals High School, attended Purdue University, and served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of First Christian Church, in Vincennes. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 28th, at the Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway Street, in Vincennes. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, November 29th, at the First Christian Church, 319 Broadway Street, in Vincennes. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery, in Vincennes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice.

VINCENNES, Ind. — Samuel Andis, 85, died November 23, 2010, at Bridge Pointe Health Campus, in Vincennes.
He was born November 23, 1925, the son of Ira T. and Lessie (English) Andis.
Preceding him were his parents, wife; one daughter; and one granddaughter. Surviving are a son; four sisters; three brothers; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, with visitation 2 to 5 p.m Sunday, at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Samuel D. Andis, 85, of 615 S. 7th St., Vincennes, passed away at 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Bridge Pointe Health Campus. He was born November 23, 1925, near Shoals, IN, the son of Ira T. and Lessie (English) Andis.  He married Dorothy L. Flori on June 12, 1948 and she preceded him in death on August 31, 2004.
 
Samuel was a graduate of Shoals High School, attended Purdue University and served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of First Christian Church in Vincennes.  
 
He is survived by his son, Mike (Sylvia) Andis of Jasper; four sisters, Viva Comrack of Boise, ID, Odean Holcomb of El Paso, TX, Ruth Mitchell of Lake Placid, FL and Sara (Ron) Barnes of Hacienda Heights, CA; three brothers, Gene Andis of Vincennes, Richard (Chris) Andis of El Paso, TX and Kenny (Ginny) Andis of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Shane (Tracey) Andis of Francisco, Eric Andis of Vincennes and Amanda (Brian)Tharp of Shoals; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Andis, Kendall Jones and Sidney Jones and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; daughter, Sherron Brasseur and a granddaughter, Bobbi Jones.
 
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 28 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St.  A memorial service will be held Monday, November 29 at  10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church, 319 Broadway St.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice.
