"MRS. SARETTA PETTIT TAKEN BY DEATH SAT.
AGED ELNORA WOMAN'S FUNERAL WAS HELD THIS AFTERNOON.

Elnora, Ind., Sept. 9. - Funeral services for Mrs. Saretta Pettit, 80, who died at the Daviess county hospital Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock, were held this afternoon at the Elnora Church of Christ, with interment following in the Walnut Hill cemetery. Rev. Paul Marsh was in charge of the services and W. H. Tomey had charge of the funeral.


Mrs. Pettit had been suffering about one year, but her condition from complications of diabetes became serious only one week ago.
She was a lifelong resident of Daviess county, having been born and reared in the same community. She was the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Miller) Andis, and was born on April 4, 1860.


Mrs. Pettit was married three times, two of her husbands preceding her in death. She married Marshal Pettit five years ago and he survives.
Her first marriage was to Daniel Weaver and three children were born this union, all of whom survive. They are William Weaver, of Danville, Ill., Bert Weaver of Terre Haute and Mrs. Sylvia Hardwick of Burns City.
Her second marriage was to Milton Bowman and no children were born to this union.


One brother, Jacob Andis, of Pleasantville, survives along with the following step-children: Mrs. Maude Weathers, Odon, Iva Pettit, Woodriver, Ill., Oscar Pettit, Chicago, Ill., Caroline Chapman, Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Eva Warren, Boonville, and Mrs. Nora Gutherie of Newberry."
