KINGSPORT - Tressie Rowe Bolton passed away Monday (July 25, 2005) at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Mrs. Bolton came to Kingsport in 1929 to teach in the first school in Lynn Garden where she met and married Bill Bolton . She resided in Lynn Garden until moving to Preston Place in February 2005. She was a member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Lynn Garden.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill Bolton ; parents, Lawrence and Chassie Rowe; two sisters, Ruby Jennings and Stella Carrier; one brother, Paul Rowe; and son-in-law, Robert G. Olterman.

Surviving are two daughters, Doris Poe and husband, Jim, Kingsport, Arlene Olterman, Acworth, Ga.; six grandchildren, Stephanie Dressler and husband, Bill, Jeannine Yates and husband, Scotty, Fran Howley and husband, Mike, Julie Bennett and husband, Ron, Richelle Elkins and husband, Mark, Rob Olterman and wife, Kristi; one sister, Ossie Mae Carrier, Elizabethton; sister-in-law, Helen Davis, O'Fallon, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. James T. Adcox and Rev. Aaron Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church, 301 Virgil Avenue, Kingsport, Tenn. 37665.
