Obituary - Trula Mae (Shelley) Ragan

BRISTOL, Va. – Trula Mae Feathers Ragan passed away at her home Sept. 23, 2007, with her daughters by her bedside.

She was born May 28, 1923, in Bristol Virginia to the late Laura Belle Canter and Jessie C. Shelley and was preceded in death by her daughter, Edline Spangler and grandson, Larry Welborn.
She spent most of her life in the Bristol area and was retired from Shoney's restaurant on West State Street after several decades of service.

She was the former spouse of "Ed" Feathers. Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth "Susie" Darlington and Judy Felty of Bristol Virginia, and Shirley Finney of Bristol Tennessee; grandchildren, Joseph, Michael and Dwayne Darlington, Daniel, David, Damon and Debbie Nahoolewa, Willie and Jeffrey Felty, Robert, Douglas, Jeffrey Adams and Jennifer Richards; and stepgrandchildren, Tommy and Dallas Finney. She was also survived by 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at 8 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jack Stevens officiating. There will be a private committal service for the family on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Glenwood Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m., prior to the service.
