Virgil Scott

Funeral services for Virgil Scott, 49, of Brinsmade, were held Friday, January 6 at 2 p.m. in the Leeds Lutheran Church with intern pastor William Schardin officiating. He died January 2, 1978, following an illness of several weeks. Interment will be in Leeds Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
Jeanette Kenner was organist, Kenneth Stuberg was soloist and Mrs. Dorothy Stuberg accompanist. Pallbearers were Alvin Antonson, Anton Burkhardsmeier, Gene Hager, Dale Halvorson, Eugene Laverdure and Ronald Nelsen. Friends and neighbors served as honorary pallbearers. The Johnson-Anderson Funeral Home of Leeds was in charge of arrangements.

Virgil Russell Scott was born February 8, 1928 in Bloomington, Ind. the son of Paul T. and Brada Sargent Scott. They moved to the Brinsmade area, where he farmed and was employed by the Benson County Highway Department. He married Ellen Sandberg at Devils Lake in 1946.
He was a member of the Masonic Order and the Elks.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Frances) Sharbono of Devils Lake; a stepson, Harold Jenson in the Army in Germany; his mother, Mrs. Brada Scott of Leeds; three brothers, Ernest Scott of Hartford City, Ind., Lloyd Scott of Bismarck and Francis Scott of West Fargo; and four grandchildren.
