Wanda Maria Gallo Trowbridge 80, passed away March 31, 2004 after a short illness. A loving wife and mother, she was affectionately known by the many children she cared for as "Nonna." Born in Bressanone, Italy she was married to 1st Lt. Charles J. Trowbridge in Pisa, Italy at the conclusion of World War II. Preceded in death by her parents Francesco and Antonietta (Torchia) Gallo; her brother Sergio Gallo (WWII) and sister Adriana Vizzini, she leaves behind her faithful husband, daughter, Viviana Miller of Marietta, Georgia; son Ronald Trowbridge and wife Kerry of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren Heather and Justin Trowbridge and Marcella and Nicholas Miller and in Italy; nephews Maurizio, Marcello and Roberto Vizzini. An avid lover of classical music and opera, "Nonna" especially loved the natural beauty of oceans, mountains and lakes, and remained true to her native Italy. Never reluctant to leave her special touch upon those around her, she will be forever remembered by many friends and acquaintances. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2004 at The Good Shepherd Chapel, Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, with services held immediately afterwards.
