FISHERMAN DROWNS IN LAKE AFTER FALLING OUT OF BOAT; [CENTRAL FLORIDA Edition] Orlando Sentinel. Orlando, Fla.: Jan 16, 1992. pg. D.3 A 69-year-old Orlando man drowned in Little Lake Conway after he apparently fell out of a fishing boat Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses told Orange County deputies that Woodrow Stapleton had been trolling along the lake's edge when his boat became entangled in weeds.

"From what we could tell his boat came to an abrupt stop, and he fell out," Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Solomons said. "He lost his balance and fell into the water."

Solomons said Stapleton, 1405 Gelwood Ave., drowned before rescue units could arrive.

A 69-year-old Orlando man who fell out of his boat Wednesday while fishing in a south Orange County lake apparently died from a heart attack, said sheriff's spokesman Cpl. Doug Sarubbi.
Woodrow Stapleton apparently suffered a heart attack before he fell into Little Lake Conway, Sarubbi said.

Witnesses told deputies that Stapleton had been trolling along the lake's edge when his boat became entangled in weeds.

Born in Pennington Gap, Va., he moved to Central Florida in 1979. A Protestant, he was also a veteran of World War II.
