Alberta Louise Bloom (Michek), 94, of Cocoa, FL, passed away Monday, May 29, 2006, at Cape Canaveral Hospital, Florida after complications from surgery. She was born in Norwalk, CT, June 20, 1911 to the late Esther Leah (Arnold) and Edward Joseph Michek. 
Alberta was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Arthur Richard Bloom (1984) and their infant son Arthur Edward ‘Junior’ (1929); two sisters, Florence (Michek) Bloom of S. Norwalk, CT, and Dorothy Hensley of Milford, CT; two brothers, Ken R. Michek of Southport, CT and Eddie Michek of Norwalk, CT. Survivors include daughter, Joan Bloom of ‘West View’ Rutland, VT; son, James R. Bloom of Deltona, FL; daughter, Judith E. Garrett of Orange City, FL; sons, Jerold Alan Bloom of Apopka, FL, and Jay Robert Bloom of Deltona, FL; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Beverly A (Eckert) Bloom of Brookline, VT and Lillian (Bloom) Banks of Norwalk, CT, numerous loving nieces and nephews. 
After their marriage, Alberta and Arthur resided in Norwalk, CT. In 1947, the family moved to Miami, FL. In 1966, Alberta and Arthur divided their time between Miami, FL and Brookline, VT, eventually moving to Manchester Center, VT and then into ‘The Meadows’ in 1981. In 2004, Alberta returned to Florida to be near her children and their families; she lived at Asbury Arms Apartments Cocoa, FL. 
A family memorial service will be held June 17th in the Chapel at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Apopka, FL, Father Tim officiating. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held June 20th at Asbury Arms Apartment, Cocoa, FL. Arrangements entrusted to the AMMEN FAMILY EAST COAST CREMATION, Rockledge, FL, (321)632-1350.  Interment will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk, CT.
