Alma N. Cox

Alma N. Cox, 86, of Terre Haute, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, in Springhill Village. She was born in Terre Haute, on Nov. 10, 1927, to George Plummer and Vera Walls Plummer. Alma was a home health care aide and member of Southside Church of the Nazarene. 

She is survived by two daughters, Anita Harris (husband David), and Linda Sturgeon (husband Greg); and a stepdaughter, Linda Sue Cox. Also surviving are three grandchildren, David Harris Jr., William L. Harris and Elizabeth Hash (husband Bob); eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition, she also is survived by a brother, Gaylon Smith (wife Diane); a niece, Carla Elmblade; and a nephew, Josh Smith (wife Ashlee). She was preceded in death by her father, George Plummer; her mother and stepfather, Vera and Alva Smith; and a sister, Wanda Elmblade. 

Memorial services will be in Crossroads Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, with the Rev. Walter Huyck officiating. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been chosen with burial of cremated remains in Grandview Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Homes and Crematory.
