Obituary - Anna Lee (Moore) Greer
BRISTOL, Va. – Anna Lee Greer, age 91, went to be with the Lord Thursday,
Aug. 7, 2008, in the Wellmont Hospice House.
She was born May 16, 1917, a daughter of the late James and Ada Williams
Moore and she lived her life in the Bristol area. She attended Shiloh
Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Greer; sons, Bud Greer and
Jim Greer; and grandsons, Robert and Cecil.
She is survived by her children, Bill Geer and wife Phillis, Betty Williams
and her late husband David Williams, Tommy Greer and wife Mary, Mary Nell
Marsh and husband Wayne, Shirley Treadway, Nancy King and husband Mike and
Patsy Worley and husband Ronnie; 37 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren;
20 great-great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-great-grandchildren;
sister, Sug Pippin; special aunt, Ruby Smith; and her miniature poodle,
Katie.
A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Walter Statzer officiating. The burial will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Harry Fields, Andrew Fields, Jeff Hobbs, Jeff
Mitchell, James Marsh, Chuck Greer and Steven Parris. Honorary pallbearers
will be Tony King, Wayne Marsh, Daniel Malloy, Mike King, Michael Burnette
and Chris Worley.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6 to 7:45 p.m. at
the funeral home or other times at the home of Betty Williams, 7683 Reedy
Creek Road, Bristol, Va.
Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home.
