Ardelia W. Gobble

Ardelia W. Gobble, born January 7, 1917, passed away on Sunday, December 18,
2011 in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
She was a member of Chestnut Grove Church for over 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Beecher R. Gobble; her son,
Leslie Gobble; son-in-law, Morgan Wise and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughters, Henrietta Wise, Dorothy Lucille Wise and
husband, Rev. Dallas, Evlie Leonard and husband, Bill and Nanabee Andis and
husband, Joe; foster son, Charlie Galliher and Lorie; daughter-in-law, Jayne
Rouse; sister, Dorothy Reynolds; 17 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren;
34 great great grandchildren and a very special friend, Carmen Nunley.
“We, the family, would like to extend special thanks to the following
caregivers who gave such loving care to our sweet mother; Connie, Darlia,
Cutie, Melody and Celise. Also, thanks to a very special and loving staff on
the 2nd floor at Johnston Memorial Hospital , Dr. Wiley Kent and Scott
Hunter who took such good care of our mother and were so caring to us
girls.”
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 21,
2011 at Chestnut Grove Community Church with Rev. Olen Cassell and Rev.
Jerry Eggers officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory
Gardens . Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December
20, 2011 at Farris Funeral Service or at anytime at the home, 9475
Porterfield Hwy, Abingdon, VA.
