Obituary - Beatrice "Bea" (Burch) Brock

Beatrice "Bea" Burch Brock, 84, died Tuesday morning, December 17, 2013, at The Waters of Batesville where she had resided since 2007.

Bea was born in Brookville, January 1, 1929 to Walter and Lillie Sandlin Burch and attended school there. On May 12, 1956, she was married to Kenneth F. Brock following his return from the Korean War. They made their home in Connersville where Bea was employed at Ford Electronics for 25 years before her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Colerain, Ohio and had been a member of Gideons International since 1968. She and her husband had also been active in the Western Avenue Baptist Church in Connersville and South Side Baptist Church in Princeton, Kentucky. Bea enjoyed gardening, yard work, growing flowers and traveling, especially to the Holy Lands. She had also lived in Western, Kentucky and most recently in Bright.

Bea is survived by two sisters: Beulah Witt of Bright, Claudette Begley and her husband, David of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Reagan M. and his wife, Elizabeth Brock; Brandon N. and Dakota W. Brock; three great-grandchildren: Madison M., Audrey J. and Aiden M. Brock; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband of 55 years, Bea was preceded in death by her daughter: Rhonda Gail Brock who died November 25, 1970; her son: Kenneth W. Brock; two sisters: Dorothy Carter and Pearl Brown; and three brothers: Oliver, Opal and Doyle Burch.
