Obituary
 
Beatrice Zirk, age 88, was born on October 6, 1923 in Elma, WA and passed away peacefully on January 1, 2012 with her family at her side at the Columbia Lutheran Home in Seattle, WA.
 
Bea graduated as salutatorian from Elma High School Class of 1942. She worked as a secretary for Arthur Andersen (Seattle) and Exxon Nuclear (Richland, WA) and was an exceptional typist (120+ wpm).
 
Bea was a very loving and caring person, always thinking of others. She was extremely creative; her hobbies included sewing, cross-stitch, quilting, doll making, cake decorating, calligraphy, and scrap-booking, to name a few. She loved gardening and hosting parties. Bea was a big supporter of women's rights, a democrat, a Toastmistress, and loved the Shalom UCC church in Richland.
 
Bea was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Bob Zirk, her parents Lee and Margaret (Weir) Crain, and three (Lovell) sisters Hazel Reed, Laura Plemmons, and Jeanne Packard. She is survived by her sister Margaret Meyer, two sons Bob Zirk and wife Vivian, Seattle, WA and Jim Zirk, Whitefish, MT, three grandchildren Jessica Zirk, Bob Zirk and Gaia Laughing Sky, grand-dog Bella, and many loving nieces, nephews and family.
 
Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, or the Shalom United Church of Christ, 505 McMurray, Richland, WA.
 
A Celebration of Bea's Life will be held on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at 10:00 am at the Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home, 350 Monroe Ave NE, Renton, WA.
